SIHA authored an article titled Worse than killing to discuss sexual violence against women in the Horn. This article was written to commemorate the 16 days of activism against violence against women campaign.
SIHA member, Iniskoy for Peace and Democracy Organization (IPDO) compiled a short document describing a woman street vendor. Iniskoy has been working with women street vendors based in Mogadishu as these women are one of the main targets of gender based violence. The women have been trained on safety mechanisms and strategies, on their rights, how to access these rights and educated on gender based violence.
This is the French version of a situational report prepared by SIHA for presentation at the 50th Ordinary session of the African commission on Human and Peoples' rights. This report provides an overview of the human rights of women in the Horn countries as well as recommendations to the Commission on how to assist in alleviating the discussed issues and human/women rights violations.

In July 2010, SIHA hosted a workshop in Kampala, Uganda on advocacy against violence against women in the Horn region countries. The workshop participants discussed advocacy strategies, bad and good practices and expereinces, recommendations and ways forward.
This article appeared in the the East African newspaper which is distributed in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan. It discusses the challenges and issues women in the Horn region face in regard to the violations of their human rights.
